Suruchi Parakh Lehenga
What I Wear

Suruchi Parakh – a not so hidden gem

I am very picky about who I follow on Instagram and some of the people that I follow religiously are other bloggers and designers. Let’s face it, there are too many people on social media selling clothing/accessories. I commend all these people following their dream, but as a customer, it is often very difficult to separate the legit good businesses from the ones that are just out there to rip you off. After years of struggle to find the right person, I came across Suruchi Parakh. If you love a good fusion of contemporary and traditional fashion, read on.

Suruchi Parakh is a not so hidden gem with about 58k Instagram followers and I have seen her steadily grow her following over time. I have been following her for 2 years now. I fell in love with a lot of her designs, but never ventured into buying one. This May, I finally fell in love with one of her outfits so much, that I couldn’t stop myself from placing an order. Skeptic as I was about putting my trust in this unknown person, I went with my gut and it is the best decision I ever made.

Before I lose myself in the details of this beautiful lehenga, I would like to talk about Suruchi Parakh as a designer and as a person. She is the most approachable (in spite of already having a ton of followers) and hassle-free designer that I have worked with. I didn’t have to go back and forth over the design or measurements. Once I picked the lehenga, she gave me a simple order process, took my measurements, made a couple of suggestions and that was it. I was able to sit back and relax until the lehenga was ready to be shipped. She set realistic expectations with respect to delivery and came through.

Now, for the good part. This lehenga is LOVE. The floral print makes it a perfect outfit for outdoor summer weddings. The scallop pearl design on the blouse adds an elegant touch and makes the outfit shine even at an indoor event. The gathered net at the hem of the skirt adds playfulness. Not to mention the ruffled sleeves that just add drama to the entire outfit.

The skirt and blouse look great together, but this outfit also comes with the prettiest dupatta ever. The baby pink net dupatta with delicate pearl detailing pulls the entire outfit together.

I paired the outfit with a pair of simple chandbalis with a single pearl drop. I loved the outfit without the dupatta, but I would definitely use the dupatta for another outfit. How would you wear it? Tell me all about it in the comments below. 🙂

Before you leave, here are a few close-up shots of the beautiful detailing on the blouse and dupatta.
