Hi guys! I was lucky enough to be picked for another one of Influenster’s VoxBox campaigns. This one is for the Garnier Fructis Nourishing Treat 1-minute Hair mask and I was super excited to review it ever since I received the product, but have been really busy with some exam prep. Now that my exam is done (I passed!! Yaayyyy!) I can finally get to it. I have been using the ‘Garnier Fructis Nourishing Treat 1-minute hair mask‘ for the last 15 days and in this post, I’m going to share my full honest review of this complimentary product.
To begin with, a quick insight into my hair type. I have really fine hair that basically never listens to me. When I blow dry it, it stays silky and is easy to manage but when I pop out of the shower and let it dry naturally, I mostly end up with a bundle of frizz. My hair is color treated, but it has been about a year since my last color so it is currently a mix of Brown and my natural hair color.
It rains a lot here in Seattle and I have been trying to figure out a hair routine that works for me ever since we moved. So I tried the Garnier Fructis Nourishing Treat 1-minute Hair mask in all the ways directed on the packaging and here’s what I think.
There are 3 ways to use this product,
1.) As a hair mask: Apply to wet hair after shampoo & conditioner, leave on for 1 minute and rinse.
2.) As a conditioner: After shampoo, apply to wet hair from root to tip, leave on for 1 minute and rinse. Used instead of regular conditioner
3.) As a leave-in treatment: Apply to damp hair for lasting moisture and frizz control.
I have tried all 3 ways and I think the leave-in treatment worked best for me. I didn’t see much difference when I used it in the shower as an additional conditioner or instead of my conditioner. When I finally tried it as a leave-in treatment, it was perfect. My highlights popped and my hair color never looked better. My hair felt manageable without the need to blow dry. I got the coconut extract mask and it smells heavenly. I am not a huge fan of shampoos that smell like coconut, but this product smells great.
The thing I did not like about it is that after using the product as a leave-in, my hair became oily after 24 hours. I felt like I had to shampoo it again the next day to look fresh. I tried to reduce the amount of product I applied to my hair hoping that would help, but then the frizz was back. A little doesn’t go a long way with this product. Also, I have medium length hair and I almost finished my 3.4 oz bottle in about 15 days.
PS: I received this product complimentary from Influenster. All opinions are my own.
